REMEMBER--I'LL LISTEN TO YOU!
Buying a house is hard enough without being able to voice concerns to your agent. I've sold lots of houses to lots of
people over the last 10 years. Remember --I'LL LISTEN TO YOU!
There are 5 basics I can tell you:
1) Get The Money!--GET QUALIFIED!
What you can afford and what you want to spend are two different things. There are lots of ways to get
a mortgage for a house. Just call me, I should be able to hook you up with 2 or 3 people who share my no-nonsense approach
to life. You will be in close communication with whomever you choose as your lender.
2) YOU HAVE TO GET OUT AND LOOK AT THEM!
We go touring! There are a lot of things to consider, like neighborhood, size, floorplan etc.
Sometimes what you end up with is entirely different than what you originally thought you would need. If you are buying with
a partner/spouse, this is the opportunity to hone those communication skills!
3) KEEP AN OPEN MIND!
No falling in love! No future tripping! ie "the couch will look great here" or "we could use this
room for an office". You are on a journey. You are shopping. You have your list of stuff you need in a house, size, neighborhood
etc. Now it has to work for you! We narrow it down to the final contenders.
4) GET A HOME INSPECTON!
You need an ASHI Certified Home Inspector. He/She comes in and tells you everything--what is important
and what isn't. Your dream house is no good to you if you have termites, or dry rot, or if a river runs through your
crawl space. The $300 or so you spend on an inspector may be the best money you spend in the whole process.
5) WE MAKE THE OFFER!
We hammer out details like price, closing date, repairs etc. Closing depends on many things, but mostly when
the lender can get funds to actually pay for the house. You're DONE! Time to move in!
